The CETOL 6σ application is a powerful tool for the analysis of dimensional chains. It is based on the probabilistic method of solving the problem of finding the nominal value and the tolerance value of the closing link (both linear and angular) of the size chain with known nominal values and tolerances of the constituent links and constructing the distribution of the given within specified limits. When constructing a design scheme between the elements participating in the calculation of the dimensional chain, the relationships that determine the degrees of freedom of these elements and the relationship between them are assigned.
As a result of the calculation, a report is generated in CETOL 6σ, which presents: the probability distribution graph with which the closing link falls within a given interval, the characteristics of the given distribution (standard deviation, probability), the histogram of the quality evaluation and the degree of influence of the constituent links of the dimensional chain on the closing link, initial data on the model dimensions involved in the calculation.
This software product is effective at an early stage of the product design, when the technological features of preparation of the production of a particular product are poorly worked out. It is also useful at the final stage of the design process as a tool for final verification in order to develop optimal technological technologies.
For the analysis of tolerances in the Pro / ENGINEER CETOL 6σ, two fundamentally different analytical tools are available for calculating the deviations of the chain: * analysis for a maximum-minimum; * statistical analysis.
